Panthers' Christian McCaffrey (ankle) "unlikely" to be ready for Week 7's game against Saints
Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is "unlikely" to be ready for Week 7's game against the New Orleans Saints, according to ESPN's David Newton.
McCaffrey remains on the injured list with a high-ankle sprain and is unlikely to be ready for Week 7's clash with New Orleans. The Panthers Week 8 game against the Atlanta Falcons is being reported as a "more realistic" potential return date, but that game takes place on Thursday Night, which creates a shorter time than usual for McCaffrey to be cleared to play. If that short timeframe prevents him from playing, he would not see the field again until Week 9's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Mike Davis will continue to operate as the Panthers' feature back in McCaffrey's absence.
Davis' Week 6 projection against the Chicago Bears includes 70.0 rushing yards, 27.5 receiving yards, 0.72 touchdowns, and 16.3 FanDuel points.
