Football Team: Kyle Allen turnovers hurting offense

Washington Football Team quarterback Kyle Allen needs to work on protecting the ball, head coach Ron Rivera said.

What It Means:

"You want him to get rid of the ball, but at the same time you want to protect the ball," Rivera said. "That's what he has to understand. He's done this in the past, where he's fumbled it a couple times. ... It hurts because it led to points." Allen completed 31-of-42 passes for 280 yards and 2 touchdowns this past Sunday, but he also threw an interception and lost a fumble in the 20-19 loss to the New York Giants. He led a pair of 70-yard scoring drives and came within a failed two-point conversion of pulling off a comeback victory, but the turnovers proved to be costly. Overall, it was still a much better performance than his first start in Week 5 when Allen managed only 74 yards on 13 attempts. He will be under center again in Week 7 on Sunday in a plus matchup versus the Dallas Cowboys.

Allen is the QB28 in numberFire's Week 7 fantasy rankings and our models project him for 14.7 FanDuel points with a salary of $6,700. The Cowboys are allowing 21.5 FanDuel points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season, eighth-most in the league.
