Dez Bryant

Dez Bryant reportedly expected to join Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens plan to sign free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant to their practice squad if his workout goes well and he passes a physical, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

What It Means:

Bryant also worked out for the Ravens last month, so the two sides are already familiar with each other. Bryant spent last year out of the league after tearing his Achilles' tendon with the New Orleans Saints in 2018. The Ravens lack any proven pass-catchers behind Marquise Brown and Mark Andrews, so Bryant could potentially wind up seeing consistent snaps over the second half of the season. Bryant will turn 32 before the start of Week 9.

The Ravens' pass offense is currently No. 21 in numberFire's advanced team rankings. Dez averaged 6.7 yards per target with a 12.2-yard average depth in 2017 in his last active season. He finished with 69 catches for 838 yards and 6 touchdowns on 132 targets.
