Chris Godwin (finger) uncertain for Buccaneers until Friday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin (finger) was a full participant in Wednesday's walk-through practice for Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday night.

What It Means:

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said they won't know whether Godwin can catch a ball until Friday, so this isn't a major development. Godwin missed Week 8 with a broken finger and has only played in half of the team's games this season due to various ailments. Mike Evans has struggled to produce this season when Godwin is active. Jaydon Mickens and Tyler Johnson are also unlikely to play nearly as much if Godwin is available. On the flip side, the arrival of Antonio Brown could cut into Godwin's target share.

Godwin leads the Buccaneers with 7.3 targets per game while averaging 6.3 receptions and 69.8 yards. His 11.2 yards per catch is a career-low after averaging at least 14.3 each of his first three seasons. Godwin scored 10.9 FanDuel points when the Buccaneers faced the Saints in Week 1. The Saints have the No. 18 pass defense in numberFire's advanced team rankings.
