49ers' Brandon Aiyuk due for 'big things'
San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk received praise from Hall of Fame receiver Jerry Rice.
"You can tell he's really starting to come in into his own," Rice said of the 49ers' first-round pick. "I’m expecting big things from him -- he’s going to continue to grow and get better." Aiyuk, who missed last week due to COVID-19 concerns, has 14 receptions for 206 yards and a touchdown in his two most recent games. He was set up for a featured role versus the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night but Richie James wound up having a career-best night with 9 receptions for 184 yards and a touchdown. Aiyuk should return to a No. 1 role in Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints with Deebo Samuel (hamstring) and George Kittle (foot) still sidelined.
numberFire's models project Aiyuk for 9.6 FanDuel points versus the Saints. He's the WR33 in our Week 9 fantasy rankings and has a salary of $6,500 on the main slate. Aiyuk owns Pro Football Focus' third-best receiving grade (77.2) among the 23 rookie wideouts with at least 10 targets.
