Falcons: Todd Gurley (knee) role to grow Week 14

Atlanta Falcons running back Todd Gurley is expected to have a larger role in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers, per interim head coach Raheem Morris.

What It Means:

Morris said that Gurley played a situational role as a runner and pass protector during Sunday's Week 13 loss to the New Orleans Saints. He played a season-low 22 snaps and rushed 8 times for 16 yards. Gurley has totaled 16 attempts in his last two games after not having fewer than 14 carries any time before the Falcons' bye. Ito Smith and Brian Hill could still remain involved versus the Chargers even if Gurley's role grows.

Gurley is only managing 2.95 FanDuel points over his last two games after averaging 14.20 in Weeks 1-9. He is recording negative-0.01 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt, compared to 0.07 for Smith and negative-0.07 for Hill. The Chargers are allowing the 12th-most FanDuel points per game to the running back position.
