Denzel Mims (personal) ruled out for Jets versus Seahawks in Week 14

New York Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims (personal) will not play in Sunday's Week 14 game against the Seattle Seahawks, head coach Adam Gase said.

What It Means:

Mims had to return home to Texas for a family emergency and will not be able to clear the NFL's COVID-19 testing protocols in time. Jamison Crowder's target share has taken a sharp drop with Mims in the lineup after he drew double-digit targets in each of the first four games. Breshad Perriman and Braxton Berrios could also benefit from Mims' absence.

Crowder has averaged just 4.5 targets in four games with Mims in the lineup, compared to 11.5 in four games without the rookie. The Seahawks' secondary has played better against weaker quarterbacks the past couple weeks but they are still allowing the most FanDuel points per game to the wide receiver position this season.
