Mason Foster expected to re-sign with Redskins

Washington Redskins linebacker Mason Foster, an impending free agent, is expected to re-sign with Washington, CSN Mid-Atlantic's Tarik El-Bashir reports.

What It Means:

Signed late in September, Foster started six games for the Redskins, including the Wild Card loss to the Packers. With free agent Keenan Robinson almost certainly out the door and Perry Riley a potential cap cut, Washington could offer Foster a starting opportunity.

A 2011 third-round pick out of (coincidentally) Washington, Foster made 37 tackles in 2015, adding one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. The Redskins ranked 17th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play, which was the lowest among the 12 playoff teams.
