Schefter: Deshaun Watson officially requests trade from Texans
Houston Texans disgruntled quarterback Deshaun Watson has requested a trade, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Schefter says the request was made weeks ago and that the Texans' choice of David Culley as head coach did not change anything. Watson will basically be able to choose his suitor due to the no-trade clause in his contract. The New York Jets and Miami Dolphins are reportedly Watson's preferred destinations, in that order. He turns 26 at the start of next season and is under contract through 2025.
Watson averaged 23.5 FanDuel points per game (QB7) and added the fifth-most Passing Net Expected Points per dropback among all quarterbacks with at least 100 dropbacks during the regular season.
