Washington will host Chris Long for visit
The Washington Redskins will host defensive end Chris Long for a free agent visit on Tuesday.
Long has spent his entire career as a 4-3 left defensive end. He would likely move to outside linebacker in Washington's 3-4 scheme. Long has managed just three sacks over his last 16 games, but he has encountered a ton of bad injury luck. Turning 31 later this month, Long could add some juice to the Redskins' Ryan Kerrigan-Preston Smith outside linebacker rotation.
The Rams had one of the league's best defenses in 2015, ranking eighth in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points (NEP) per play. Washington, meanwhile, checked in 17th in Adjusted Defensive NEP per play.
