Sammy Watkins 'best receiver' at Ravens' camp

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Sammy Watkins "was the Ravens' best receiver at minicamp," per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.

What It Means:

Hensley writes that Watkins made multiple contested catches in camp and that the receiver is developing chemistry with quarterback Lamar Jackson. "I'm not going to lie to you; it is fun," Jackson said of Watkins. "A big receiver, nice target, fast guy. Sammy is going to make our job a lot easier." Watkins could wind up drawing more targets than rookie Rashod Bateman, but Baltimore's run-heavy offense will limit the upsides of every pass-catcher.

Watkins is currently the WR94 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models project him to draw 56.4 targets for 33.3 receptions, 389.2 yards, and 3.6 touchdowns in his first year with the Ravens. Bateman is projected for 83.4 targets and Marquise Brown is projected for 98.6 targets.
