Dallas Goedert to be 'featured' in Eagles' new offense
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert will be "featured" in head coach Nick Sirianni's offense this season, per Zach Berman of The Athletic.
Zach Ertz is expected to be on another roster at the start of next season, making way for Goedert to take over as the team's No. 1 tight end. That should mean more playing time (54 percent of the offensive snaps in 11 games last season) and a larger target share (11.6 percent) for the 2018 second-round pick. During a three-game stretch last season with Ertz out, Goedert averaged 7.3 targets, 5.3 receptions, and 61.7 yards per game.
Goedert is currently the TE7 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models project him to finish second on the Eagles in targets (108.7) behind Smith (118.3), while recording 68.3 catches for 757.3 yards and 6.1 touchdowns. Per Fantasy Football Calculator Goedert is being taken in the eighth round as the TE10 in PPR leagues.
