Panthers rookie Terrace Marshall "will steal some folks’ jobs”
Former Carolina Panthers receiver Steve Smith Jr. believes that 2021 second-round pick Terrace Marshall "will steal some folks' jobs" after the team's early practices.
Marshall played third fiddle to Justin Jefferson and JaMarr Chase in the LSU Tigers' legendary 2019 season, but dominated the field in his 2020 season before his early opt-out, somehow putting up 731 yards and 10 touchdowns on 48 receptions in just 7 yards in his final season. Marshall boasted elite, 85th-percentile size-adjusted speed at his Pro Day this offseason and could be a major target for Sam Darnold this season.
Marshall held his own in the Tigers' legendary 2019 offense before breaking his foot in their fourth game, outpacing both Chase and Jefferson in receiving yards and touchdowns prior to his injury. While he has to compete with D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson for targets in Carolina, he's still projecting to finish as the WR75 in numberFire's early rankings.
