Jaguars' D.J. Chark undergoes minor hand surgery
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver D.J. Chark had surgery on a "minor break" in his hand, head coach Urban Meyer announced.
What It Means:
Meyer said Chark should be ready for Week 1 versus the Houston Texans, but the absence could allow Laviska Shenault and Marvin Jones to build more rapport with rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Chark's production dipped from 67.2 yards per game in 2019 to 54.3 last season, but the hope is that better play under center will allow Chark to return to previous form. Per Fantasy Football Calculator, Chark's current ADP is WR33 at 8.01 in 12-team PPR formats.
Chark is currently the WR29 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models expect him to lead the Jaguars across the board with 127.2 targets, 75.7 receptions, 1,004.4 yards, and 5.87 touchdowns.
