Hunter Henry injures shoulder at Patriots practice
New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry injured his shoulder during Sunday's practice.
Henry is undergoing an MRI and could potentially miss preseason time, but the belief is that he avoided a serious injury. The 26-year-old tight end is expected to be a prominent piece in the Patriots offense after signing a three-year, $37.5 million contract back in March. However, the potential absence could allow Jonnu Smith to earn a larger role heading into Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins. Henry has missed six games over the past two seasons due to injury and he averaged a career-low 10.2 yards per catch last year. Per Fantasy Football Calculator, Henry's current ADP is TE11 at 9.04 in 12-team PPR formats.
Henry is currently the TE19 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models expect him to draw 78.8 targets and record 51.5 receptions for 546.5 yards and 4.56 touchdowns. Among the 26 tight ends with at least 50 targets last season, Henry ranked 14th in Reception Net Expected Points per target.
