Ravens 'still hopeful' about Rashod Bateman (groin) Week 1 availability
Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver Rashod Bateman's (groin) absence is "going to be weeks," head coach John Harbaugh said.
Harbaugh added that he is "still hopeful" about Bateman recovering in time for Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Bateman is dealing with a soft tissue issue, so the Ravens are likely going to err on the side of caution to avoid aggravating the injury and making things worse. Marquise Brown, Sammy Watkins, and Mark Andrews all stand to see upticks in targets while Bateman is out. The absence could also allow guys like Miles Boykin, Devin Duvernay, Tylan Wallace, and Jaylon Moore to earn larger roles.
numberFire's models currently expect Bateman to average 3.5 receptions and 5.4 targets for 41.6 yards per game this season while totaling 4.89 touchdowns.
