Jonnu Smith (ankle) returns to Patriots' practice Monday
Tight end Jonnu Smith (ankle) returned to practice for the New England Patriots on Monday.
After missing the past week with a low-grade ankle sprain, Smith was reportedly a full participant in practice Monday for the Patriots. The Pats made a huge effort to overhaul their pass-catching group this offseason, starting by prioritizing Smith on the first day of free agency. Smith's elite athleticism could be a focal point of New England's offense this year.
Our models currently project Smith to finish the 2021 season as the TE17 in fantasy football, but there's potential for upside if Smith becomes the featured player in New England's revamped offense. He's currently projected for 51.5 catches on 80.7 targets, with 568.4 yards and 4.6 scores.
