Devonta Freeman signs with Ravens' practice squad

Free agent running back Devonta Freeman has signed a deal to join the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad.

What It Means:

Just a couple days ago, Le'Veon Bell signed to the Ravens' practice squad to add depth following Justice Hill's season-ending Achilles tear. Now, it's Freeman to add depth after Gus Edwards tore his ACL in practice on Thursday. The blows keep coming to the Ravens, as Marcus Peters tore his ACL at practice Thursday as well. And of course, this all comes after J.K. Dobbins tore his ACL last week. Freeman could be elevated to the active roster as the season rolls on, but for now, it'll be a three-man group of Ty'Son Williams, Trenton Cannon and Bell.

In 5 games played with the New York Giants last season, Freeman had 172 rushing yards on 54 carries with 1 touchdown. He also added 7 catches on 10 targets for 58 yards.
