Ty'Son Williams expected to see 'bulk' of Ravens' carries Monday

Baltimore Ravens running back Ty'Son Williams will "likely get the bulk of the backfield work" on Monday night against the Las Vegas Raiders, writes Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

What It Means:

Zrebiec accurately notes that Williams is the only running back on the Ravens roster who has been with the team for more than a week, making him the favorite for lead back duties over new teammates Latavius Murray, Le'Veon Bell, and Devonta Freeman. Williams, a 2020 undrafted free agent, rushed 24 times for 130 yards and a touchdown in Baltimore's three preseason games. That earned him the sixth-best rushing grade from Pro Football Focus among all preseason running backs. In terms of the rest of the backfield, Zrebiec sees Murray as "the favorite to play and potentially get a handful of touches."

numberFire's models project Williams for 13.0 carries and 56.6 rushing yards versus a Raiders team that has the second-worst run defense in our NFL Team Power Rankings. Williams has a $12,000 salary on Monday night's one-game FanDuel slate.
