Steelers' JuJu Smith-Schuster (ribs) considered day-to-day
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (ribs) is considered day-to-day while he recovers from the injury he sustained in Week 3's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Smith-Schuster took a big shot to the ribs in Sunday's loss, but further testing Monday morning revealed a diagnosis of bruised ribs with no structural damage. It's positive news for a Steelers receiver group that is already missing Diontae Johnson (knee), but the Steelers' passing game has been concerning through three weeks.
Smith-Schuster's workload didn't seem to change much without Johnson in Week 3, but the veteran only managed to play on 40% of the team's snaps before the team ruled him out. His 18 targets on the season trail both Chase Claypool (29) and Johnson (22), and are still 1 fewer than rookie running back Najee Harris amassed (19) in Week 3 alone.
