Browns "not ruling out" Nick Chubb (calf) for Thursday
Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters that the team is "not ruling out" running back Nick Chubb for the team's Thursday Night Football matchup against the Denver Broncos.
The Browns are all kinds of banged up after Week 6, including Chubb, who missed the week with a calf injury. The team also lost fellow running back Kareem Hunt (calf) for at least the next four weeks in their Week 6 loss, so Chubb's return would be a huge relief for the team as they take on the Broncos.
Chubb has been dominant on the ground once again in 2021, averaging 104.6 rushing yards per game in his 5 contests. However, while he has lost the majority of his passing-down work to Hunt (he's averaging just 1 reception per game), Hunt's absence could open up the opportunity for a massive workload for him. If Chubb misses the team's Week 7 game, expect D'Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton to handle the majority of the team's running back opportunities.
