Giants' Kadarius Toney (ankle) reportedly expected to miss time
New York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney is expected to miss time with an ankle injury that he aggravated in Week 6, reports Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News.
Toney initially injured his ankle in Week 5 and then he aggravated the problem last week in the first quarter and did not return. The rookie receiver is being further evaluated, but Leonard's sources say it’s more serious than a simple sprain. As a result, it now looks like both Toney and Kenny Golladay (knee) will be out in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers. Sterling Shepard should see plenty of volume again after leading the NFL with 14 targets last week in his first game back from an injury. Dante Pettis also figures to remain involved after finishing second on the Giants last week with 11 targets.
Shepard is currently the WR21 in numberFire's Week 7 fantasy rankings and our models project him to draw 8.4 targets. In his three healthy games this season, Shepard is averaging 11.0 targets and 94.3 yards per contest. Shepard has a $6,500 salary on FanDuel in Week 7.
