Packers' Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) no longer expected to play Thursday
The Green Bay Packers are not expected to activate wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) from injured reserve ahead of Thursday night's game against the Arizona Cardinals, per multiple reports.
Valdes-Scantling was reportedly counting on playing earlier this week, but the Packers are deciding to play it safe and give him another week to recover. That means Aaron Rodgers will be missing his top-three receivers Thursday night, as Davante Adams and Allen Lazard are both on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Look for Robert Tonyan, Aaron Jones, and A.J. Dillon to all see more involvement in the passing game. Randall Cobb, Equanimeous St. Brown, and Amari Rodgers will likely form three-wide sets for Green Bay.
The Cardinals are allowing the second-fewest Adjusted Passing Net Expected Points per play this season. Adams and MVS are first and second on the Packers this season in targets per game.
