Michael Thomas (ankle) suffers setback, out for Saints this season
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) released a statement that he is out for the 2021 season.
Thomas apparently suffered a setback with his ankle injury. Turning 29 in March, Thomas will have played just seven games in two years heading into next season. Marquez Callaway and Tre'Quan Smith will continue operating as the Saints' starting wideouts in Week 9 versus the Atlanta Falcons.
Alvin Kamara is leading the Saints with a 20.3% target share this season and Callaway is second at 18.1%. numberFire's models project Kamara for 5.7 targets and Callaway for 4.7 targets in Week 9 against Atlanta.
