Damien Williams (knee) inactive for Bears in Week 9
The Chicago Bears have ruled out running back Damien Williams (knee) for Monday's Week 9 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Williams breifly appeared to be working back into a timeshare with rookie Khalil Herbert in David Montgomery's (knee) absence in Week 8, but suffered a knee injury in the first quarter after earning the start. He'll miss tonight's game, leaving Montgomery and Herbert to divvy up the majority of the running back opportunities in Week 9.
Williams appeared to enter the season with a grip on the Bears' RB2 position, but a bout with COVID-19 and a knee injury opened the doors for Herbert to establish himself as a viable running back. Still, Herbert could take a backseat in Week 9 with Montgomery back in the lineup. Montgomery has a $6,500 salary on FanDuel and is projected for 8.6 fantasy points.
