Melvin Gordon (hip) doubtful for Broncos in Week 13
Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon (hip) is doubtful to play Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Gordon missed practice all week and is headed for his first absence of the season. That means rookie Javonte Williams will make his first career start and he could potentially run away with the job with a strong performance in a plus matchup. Gordon is averaging a 52.5% offensive snap rate and 14.3 touches per game.
The Broncos are 9.5-point underdogs in Week 13, so the game script doesn't set up well for Williams, but the Chiefs have the seventh-worst run defense in the NFL, according to numberFire's schedule-adjusted rankings. Williams is now the RB9 in our Week 13 rankings and he is projected for 20.6 touches on Sunday.
