Bengals' Joe Mixon dealing with ankle injury
Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon is reportedly dealing with an ankle injury and could be "limited early" in practices this week.
Head coach Zac Taylor called the situation "encouraging", ESPN's Ben Baby reports, so it sounds like Mixon might be looking at a couple limited practices to start the week. The talented back played his fewest snaps since Week 5 with 31, but still handled his typical volume of touches in the team's Week 15 win over the Denver Broncos.
Mixon has been one of the steadiest backs in fantasy football this season, averaging 18.7 carries for 78.1 yards per game, while added 2.1 receptions for 14.6 receiving yards per game. His 14 total touchdowns through 14 games have already eclipsed his previous season-high of 9.
