A.J. Brown not expected to attend Titans' camp without a new contract
Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown does not intend to report to the team's offseason program next week amidst requests of a new contract, Adam Schefter reports.
Now entering the final year of his initial rookie contract, Brown is seeking to negotiate for a new deal from the Titans. With the recent blockbuster deals for free agent receivers around the league, Brown should be setting his sights close to the $30 million per year that Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams negotiated last month.
Still just 24, Brown has totaled 3,065 yards from scrimmage and 25 touchdowns through his first 3 seasons. The young star has leverage in that the Titans have no other established pass catchers on their roster heading into the 2022 season. It would seem likely that the team extends Brown before the beginning of the season, but this will still be a situation to monitor over the course of the summer.
