Terry McLaurin to sit out on-field activities amidst contract negotiation with Commanders
Washington Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin is not expected to participate in the teams on-field work during their upcoming offseason program as he negotiates a new contract.
McLaurin is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and with the recent blockbuster deals for free agent wide receivers, he has reason to expect a massive deal from the Commanders after his performance with the team in his first three seasons. The former third-round pick has been the only consistent producer in the team's passing game as they've worked through quarterback troubles.
McLaurin has led Washington in receiving yards in each of his first three seasons, and in two of the years more than doubled the production of the next-best receivers on those teams. The Commanders would be wise to lock down McLaurin's contract before the start of the 2022 NFL season.
