Rapoport: Baker Mayfield likely sticking with Browns through draft
Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is not expected to be traded before the NFL Draft, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Rapoport specifically ruled out the Carolina Panthers as a pre-draft trade partner and he added that the rest of the league is unlikely to make a deal. The asking price for Mayfield "could come down" after the draft, according to Rapoport's colleague Cameron Wolfe, which suggests that teams might want to wait to see how things play out this weekend. In addition to the Panthers, the Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers have also been mentioned as potential suitors for Mayfield.
Among the 44 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs last season, Mayfield ranked 33rd in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back (0.00). However, Mayfield led the league with 0.61 Passing NEP on screen passes, of which he completed 31 of 35 attempts for 349 yards and a touchdown.
