Terry McLaurin planning holdout from Commanders minicamp
Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin does not plan to attend mandatory minicamp this week, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said last week that he expected McLaurin to be in attendance for minicamp, but the contract-year receiver apparently intends to hold out while seeking "a contract extension consistent with other comparable WRs that recently signed." The 2019 third-round pick led Washington in targets, receptions, and receiving yards in each of his first three seasons in the league.
McLaurin accounted for 28.1% of Washington's receiving yards and 24.3% of the team's targets in 2021 while averaging 10.3 FanDuel points per game. He is currently the WR13 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings and our models project him for 144.9 targets, 86.8 receptions, 144.9 yards, and 6.78 touchdowns.
