Denzel Mims requests trade from Jets
New York Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims has requested a trade from the team, according to his agent Ron Slavin.
Mims was a second-round pick in 2020, but the Baylor product never really caught on. The Jets made a big investment in the wide receiver position the last two offseasons, bringing in Elijah Moore, Corey Davis and Garrett Wilson while Braxton Berrios enjoyed a breakout 2021 campaign. As such, Slavin believes the best thing for his client's career is to be sent elsewhere, saying "he has been given no opportunities with the starting offense to get in a groove."
In 11 games last season, Mims had 8 catches on 23 targers for 133 yards.
