Cowboys' Michael Gallup (ACL) could return for Week 3
Dallas Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said that it is "certainly possible" that wide receiver Michael Gallup (ACL) could return for the team's Week 3 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Gallup suffered an ACL tear late in the 2021 season, but avoided the injured reserve to start the 2022 season, implying that the team projected him to return before Week 5. However, even if he does return for Week 3, it's possible that the team works him into the fold with caution; Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout Chris Godwin (ACL) suffered a hamstring strain in his premature return to the field after recovering from a similar injury. The Cowboys have little depth at the receiver position this year behind CeeDee Lamb and Noah Brown, so Gallup's return should have a pretty immediate impact on their offense.
Gallup should face little resistance for targets once he returns to Dallas' offense, but may have to deal with Cooper Rush under center for his first few weeks back. He's our WR47 in our rest-of-season projections.
