Tua Tagovailoa (back, ankle) uncertain for 'Phins in Week 4

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (back, ankle) is still undergoing tests for his injuries and that he is not sure if the third-year quarterback will play in Thursday's Week 4 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

What It Means:

In one of the weirder moments of Week 3, Tagovailoa was pulled from the field to be evaluated for a concussion after stumbling in the aftermath of a heavy hit. While he was initially labeled as questionable to return with a head injury, the young signal caller resumed as the starter for the second half of the game. Reports indicated that Tagovailoa had suffered a back strain (not a concussion) during the game, and that he is currently dealing with an ankle injury. The Dolphins quarterback could be questionable for Week 4.

The Dolphins invested heavily in revamping their receiver corps this offseason, and the decision has led to Tagovailoa's most impressive season yet (including his Week 2 comeback win against the Baltimore Ravens). His 9.9 adjusted yards per attempt lead the league through the first three weeks of the season.
