David Njoku out for Browns 2-5 weeks with high-ankle sprain

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku is expected to miss 2-5 weeks with a high-ankle sprain, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.

What It Means:

Njoku will miss multiple games with the injury he suffered on Sunday, but the positive news is that he will not require surgery. Through the first six games of the season, Njoku registered the highest offensive snap rate (87.6%) out of the Browns' skill players and he is second on the team with 6.0 targets per game and an 18.9% target share. Harrison Bryant (50.9% snap rate this season) should see a rise in playing time and routes run. There will also be more targets available for Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones.

Among all tight ends with 20-plus targets this season, Njoku is leading the way with 2.14 yards per route run, per Pro Football Focus. Mark Andrews (2.12) and Travis Kelce (2.08) are the only other two tight ends above 2.00 yards per route run this season.
