Jonathan Bullard a fit at defensive end for Bears
Chicago Bears third-round defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard played right end during rookie minicamp.
Bullard has experience at defensive tackle, but the Bears are viewing him as a five-technique end in base packages. Given the team's personnel, Bullard has a chance to see the field right away. Jarvis Jenkins joined the New York Jets this offseason while Will Sutton and Ego Ferguson are both coming off injuries. Mitch Unrein will also be in the mix, though he's better suited as a rotational player.
Chicago's 0.12 Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points (NEP) per play in 2015 ranked 30th in the league. They were particularly atrocious defending the pass, ranking 31st in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play.
