JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion) sitting again Thursday for Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion) is not practicing again on Thursday.
Smith-Schuster is still in concussion protocol as the Chiefs prepare for Sunday night's Week 11 contest against the Los Angeles Chargers. Mecole Hardman (abdomen) also remains idle Thursday, but Marquez Valdes-Scantling (illness) is returning to work after missing Wednesday's practice. Kadarius Toney and Justin Watson will have more opportunities available if Smith-Schuster doesn't clear protocol by Sunday night.
Smith-Schuster has a 19.4% target share and is averaging 7.6 targets in his eight healthy games this season. If he sits and Hardman is limited, numberFire's models project Toney for 5.8 targets and MVS for 4.7 targets. The Chargers have the No. 11 pass defense and fourth-worst pass defense in numberFire's advanced team metrics, so the Chiefs may run more than normal.
