Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa enters concussion protocol again after Week 16

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has entered the league's concussion protocol for the third time this season following the team's Week 16 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

What It Means:

Tagovailoa started Week 16 off strong, but struggled mightily in the second half of the game. It now would seem as though the third-year quarterback may have suffered his third concussion of the season on a play just before the end of the second quarter, after which point he threw all three of his interceptions on the day. Teddy Bridgewater and Skylar Thompson have each made starts behind Tagovailoa this season and would be the likeliest candidates to start if he misses Week 17.

Tagovailoa started the game off by hitting Jaylen Waddle over the middle for a long, 84-yard score on the team's second drive after leading another drive for a field goal on their first possession. There was a clear difference in his ability to dissect the Packers' defense in the second half, and it is concerning that the young quarterback has already suffered multiple similar injuries this season.
