Steelers praise nose tackle Daniel McCullers
Pittsburgh Steelers defensive line coach John Mitchell said nose tackle Daniel McCullers "has really come along" this offseason.
"I think he really understands what it takes to play in this league better than he ever has before," Mitchell continued. "I’m very pleased with where he’s at." McCullers has dropped weight as he attempts to take hold of the starting nose job vacated by Steve McLendon. He will need to beat out third-rounder Javon Hargrave for the spot.
The Steelers' defense -- for all of their reported troubles -- still ranked 11th in the league in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points last season.
