Steven Nelson standing out for Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Steven Nelson has been "one of the standouts" of the offseason, Chiefs.com's B.J. Kissel said.
"I thought he kind of took off the last quarter of the season. We were excited to see if he’d continue to grow at that inside position," head coach Andy Reid said. "He has made some plays in the inside with the first group there." Nelson is expected to function as the primary nickel cornerback, while Marcus Peters and Phillip Gaines (ACL) are expected to start on the outside.
Kansas City, built on defense, ranked fifth in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play last season.
