Browns' Danny Shelton expects three-down role in 2016
Cleveland Browns nose tackle Danny Shelton expects to have a three-down role this year.
Shelton is down to 335 pounds after rookie-year conditioning issues. With the loss of defensive end Desmond Bryant, the Browns are counting on Shelton as a defensive line anchor. He massively underwhelmed in his first year and was pulled off the field on every passing down, ending up with just 640 snaps played.
The Browns' 0.05 Adjusted Defensive Rushing Net Expected Points per play in 2015 ranked 28th in the league.
