Cleveland Browns rookie defensive lineman Carl Nassib (calf) will be ready for training camp.
What It Means:
Nassib didn't sign his rookie deal until the final days of June, and therefore missed minicamp. His health and conditioning has taken on much greater importance after the Browns lost starter Desmond Bryant (pectoral) for the season. Nassib should see time both as an edge player and kicked inside on passing downs.
Prior to his injury news, our algorithms had projected Bryant for 70.91 tackles and 7.85 sacks in 2016. Nominal starter Xavier Cooper will now take on most of that projection, but lose some time to Nassib. The Browns' 0.05 Adjusted Defensive Rushing Net Expected Points per play in 2015 ranked 28th in the league.
