Jaelen Strong

Jaelen Strong will be tested by veteran cornerbacks in training camp

Jaelen Strong should be facing off against veteran cornerbacks Johnathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson in training camp, something he didn't do in OTAs.

What It Means:

Strong had injury issues earlier in the offseason and is now 20 pounds lighter than he was during rookie camp, so he should finally be fit enough to run with the veterans.

Based on our schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play metric, which compares a team to expectation level, the Texans had the top pass defense in the league. They and the Buffalo Bills were a clear cut above the rest of the NFL, so Strong will get a glimpse of some top-flight pass coverage. Our algorithms project him for just 24 receptions, 306 yards, and a touchdown, but that's if he stays behind Cecil Shorts and Nate Washington on the depth chart.
