Malcolm Mitchell has highest upside of Patriots' outside receivers
New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell has the "highest upside" of the Patriots' X receiver candidates, ESPN's Mike Reiss believes.
Per Reiss, Mitchell is "fast, runs good routes and has made an early impression in terms of grasping some of the complex concepts in the team's scheme." The Patriots have been cautious with Mitchell's reps this offseason after he struggled with knee problems at Georgia. If he weren't able to seize the job, Aaron Dobson or Nate Washington could step in.
Our algorithms currently project Mitchell to record just six catches for 81 yards receiving, and 0.44 touchdowns in his rookie campaign. That said, he's positioning himself well to pick up the slack in case of any injuries.
