Patriots release Nate Washington
The New England Patriots released wide receiver Nate Washington.
Washington was buried on the depth chart in New England. The 33-year-old settled for a minimum deal with the Patriots after a solid 2015 with the Houston Texans, but didn't even make it to final cuts. He should be able to land another tryout with some team this season once injuries hit.
Washington had four touchdowns last season for the Texans despite the team's quarterback issues. He ranked 33rd in Reception Net Expected Points per target among receivers with at least 90 targets in 2015.
