Barkevious Mingo

Patriots acquire Barkevious Mingo from Cleveland

The Cleveland Browns have traded defensive end/outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo to the New England Patriots.

What It Means:

Mingo, the sixth overall pick of the 2013 draft, didn't pan out for the Browns, with only seven sacks through 46 games in his first three NFL seasons. With the departure of Chandler Jones, as well as injuries to Rob Ninkovich and now Jabaal Sheard, the Patriots need pass rushing depth. Mingo makes for an interesting addition.

Mingo joins a Patriots defense that ranked 12th in 2015 with a schedule-adjusted 0.04 Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play.
