Colts believe Antonio Cromartie 'absolutely ready' for season
Indianapolis Colts defensive back Antonio Cromartie is "absolutely ready," defensive coordinator Ted Monachino said.
Cromartie signed a one-year deal on August 23 and didn't log any snaps in the preseason, but Monachino said the veteran has "had good days of practice." Vontae Davis (ankle) is sidelined, so Cromartie should be in line for a significant role right off the bat. The Colts face the Detroit Lions in Week 1 in a matchup that carries plenty of shootout potential.
Cromartie is projected to record 2.50 tackles, 0.62 deflected passes and 0.17 interceptions in the regular season opener.
