Titans demote Rishard Matthews for Andre Johnson
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Rishard Matthews has lost his starting job to Andre Johnson.
Matthews is coming off his most productive game in Week 4, but saw just two targets. He's been a major part of Tennessee's pass game struggles and should be limited to four-wide sets going forward. Johnson isn't much of an upgrade, but has apparently been the better receiver to this point.
Our Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) metric indicates the Titans are actually making a bad move here (not that surprising). Matthews has earned a 0.68 Reception NEP per target on 20 targets (60 percent catch rate), while Johnson has just a 0.47 mark on 17 targets (41 percent catch rate). This is a head-scratcher.
