Ray-Ray Armstrong signs two-year extension with 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers signed linebacker Ray-Ray Armstrong to a two-year extension through 2018.
He was scheduled to be a free agent in March. Armstrong was a part-time inside linebacker and special teams player the first two weeks of the season before suffering a season-ending torn pectoral. He should fill the same role next year. Armstrong is just 25 and a high-energy player.
The 49ers' defense has been the fourth-worst in the league per schedule-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play.
