Lorenzo Alexander re-signs with Bills
Buffalo Bills re-signed edge rusher Lorenzo Alexander on a two-year, $9-million contract.
The deal includes $4.1 million guaranteed. Despite a 12.5-sack breakout in 2016, Alexander's age (34 in May) and lackluster track record (9 sacks entering the season) limited his market. Still, $9 million over two years is solid for a player who had primarily been a special teamer before last year. Now Alexander will turn his attention to replicating his success in a 4-3 defense which might not fit his skill set.
Buffalo ranked 20th in the NFL last season in schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points allowed per play.
